2019 Line Dance Year End Jam

CRC Poolside Pavillion Fri, 13 Dec - Fri, 13 Dec 07:00 pm - 11:00 pm

The time has come again for everyone to bid goodbye to yet another good year and the Line Dance section had the perfect event for it – The Line Dance Year End Dance Party. The event was held in conjunction with Christmas and the traditional birthday bash for members who were born between the months of July to December.

Friday 13th of December 2019 witnessed the feeling of festivity in the air as over 43 members dressed in beautiful outfits themed “Red and White” made their way to CRC Poolside Pavilion. The event started with a special treat for the ladies of Line Dance Section, where Ms. Vivien Loh demonstrated the art of make-over at the Cosmetic Bar corner. At 8 PM, Social Chairlady Ms. Coco Tang was invited for a welcoming speech followed by introduction of Line Dance Chairlady Ms. Grace Gan, Secretary Mrs. Oh, Treasurer Ms. Cheah Beng Ngoh and four Committee Members – Ms. Vivien Loh, Ms. Janice Tan, Ms. Evelyn Lim and Datin Tan Lean Tee. Ms. Coco Tang highlighted and congratulated the great success of the recently-launched Line Dance Beginner Class as there were fresh new faces seen during the evening, including 8 gentlemen members.

The event continued with a savoury spread of dinner buffet consisting of curry chicken, sweet sour fish, crab rolls, spring rolls, fried rice, fried bee hoon and topped with a selection of fruits as dessert. Thanks to dinner served to provide some sustenance before the serious business of dancing began, members were pumped with energy as 10 numbers for beginners started playing. The beginner line dancers enthusiastically took over the dance floor and showed their moves to all-time favourites such as Mony Mony, Come Dance With Me, Chaca Chaca and Texas Stomp.

During intervals, Appreciation Awards were presented to line dance instructor Ms. Ong May Wah, Beginner Class instructor Ms. Janice Tan and CRC Office Personnel Ms. Lim Lay Sean, who rendered assistance to the Line Dance Section as and when required without fail. Members then gathered for birthday cake-cutting and prize-giving ceremony before taking group photos together. The dance floor was fired up again as the dance continued with 10 intermediate numbers with senior dancers swaying and jiving away to Graffiti, Sucker, My Rules and Thank You Very Much. The party progressed with lucky draws where members were rewarded with attractive gifts donated by Ms. Anne Ang, Ms. Josephine Cang and Datin Tan.

The night ended close to 11 PM with everyone heading home exhausted but filled with happiness of the memories made during the event.
